One of our favourite wine areas is the Hemel en Aarde Valley. It is less known than the other wine routes and located between Cape Town and Swellendam, so perfect to visit while on route. The cool sea breeze and clay soil make this valley the best place for pinot noir and chardonnay. Famous wineries in the valley are Hamilton Russell and Bouchard Finlayson.
