Since our first visit in 1995 South Africa has always been in our hearts. We kept coming back year after year to experience the magnificent nature, the friendly people and the vibrant atmosphere. The plan to move from the Netherlands to South Africa gradually developed. In 2013 we decided to live our dream and move south in 2014. We found our perfect B&B and home in Swellendam, sold our house in Haarlem and changed our business suits for shorts.

For us Babette is the perfect place. It is the ideal combination of taking over a lovely guesthouse and living in this stunning place. This gives us the opportunity to share our passion for this beautiful country, meet many new people, share our joy for food and wine, outdoor living and enjoy all the things that make South Africa so special.
